Elaine M. Stueber Eger passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Riverside Nursing Center in Trenton. She was 89 years old.

Born in Perth Amboy, she resided there most of her life before moving to Monroe Township 5 years ago.

A 1943 graduate of Saint Mary's High School in Perth Amboy, she became a registered nurse through Saint Peters Nursing School in New Brunswick, and then received her bachelor's degree from Jersey City State College.

Mrs. Eger was a Nurse with Carborundum Corporation and Doctors Margaretten, Cluft & Roth in Perth Amboy before finishing her career in 1994 after 16 years at Perth Amboy School #5.

She was a communicant of Pope John Paul II Parish, Saint Mary's Church in Perth Amboy where she was a member and past president of the Altar-Rosary Society. She was also a life long member of the Raritan Yacht Club.

She was predeceased by her former husband, Alex B. Eger, Jr. in 1995; her parents, August and Teresa Mansfield Stueber; and two sisters, Laverne McShea and Patricia Harkins.

She is survived by a daughter, Suzanne M. Brauer and her husband, Daniel, of East Windsor; two grandchildren, Kristen and Daniel Brauer; a niece and multiple nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 9:15 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home ( www.Costello-greiner.com ) 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Stephen's Catholic Church, State Street, Perth Amboy. Interment will be in Resurection Cemetery in Piscataway.   Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
