Eileen Sanfilippo of Toms River passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 5, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was 81 years old.

Eileen was born and raised in Jersey City and graduated from Snyder High School class of 1962. She spent many years in Fords before moving to Toms River in 2011.

Eileen was employed at U.S. Steel in Manhattan before taking on her most rewarding role as a mother. Later in life she was employed at Macy’s Warehouse in Raritan Center from 1993 until retiring in 2011.

She was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Mary (Walsh) Jesberger; her brother Arthur Jesberger; and her sister Mary Ann Delutis.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years James Sanfilippo; her son John Sanfilippo and his wife Lisa of Fords; her daughter Jaime Fazio and her husband Carlo of Woodbridge; eight grandchildren Madison, Christine, Carlo, Vincenzo, Luciana, James, Salvatore and Antonio.

A Funeral Liturgy will take place on Friday, September 11, 2026 10:00 am at St. James R.C. Church, Amboy Avenue, Woodbridge. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

Visiting hours will be on Thursday, September 10, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge.
