Edwin D. Borja passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. He was 66 years old.

Born in Santa Cruz, Philippines on July 6, 1958 to Elena and Jesus Borja, he came to the United States in 1971 and lived in Jersey City and Avenel before moving to Manchester 4 years ago.

Mr. Borja was a graduate of La Salle University and was employed as controller with Dana Companies in Avenel for many years.

He was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel, where he sang in the choir; and an avid bowler at Hudson Lanes in Jersey City, NJ, and mahjong player with close friends.

Edwin was a member of the Philippine Olympic Swim Team for the 1972 Munich and 1976 Montreal Olympics.

He was predeceased by his wife, Marieta Espe Borja, in 2019.

Surviving are his children, Jaclyn Camacho and her husband, Michael, of Avenel and Brian Borja and his wife, Gertrude, of Clifton; sisters, Josephine Lucero and Jocelyn Gill; brothers, Edgar, Edward and Edmond Borja; and beloved grandchildren, Jacob and Marieta Camacho and Penelope and Roman Borja.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, March 21, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed at 9:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions for Mr. Borja's family would be greatly appreciated.
