Edward Vairinhos passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 43 years old.

Born in Elizabeth, Eddie remained a New Jersey resident, but moved to the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township in 2005.

Eddie enjoyed traveling with his wife, Elvie, and trying new restaurants. His interests included comics, Sci-fi, discussing the latest high tech gadgets, and of course, a good meatball parm.

Eddie will always be remembered to those who knew and loved him as a "gentle giant".

He is survived by his loving wife, Elvira Cruz Vairinhos; father-in-law and mother-in-law Andres and Marta Cruz; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Andres and Jean Cruz; nieces and nephews, Alex, Gabby, and Jacob; parents, Valentim and Nilda Maldanado Vairinhos; and brother, Steve Vairinhos.

Visitation for family and friends will take place on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home at 399 Avenel Street in Avenel. Casual attire is encouraged with your best DC/Marvel or Sci-fi gear in his honor.
