Edward J. Markovitch of Avenel passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. He was 77 years old.

Born in Charleroi, Pennsylvania; He resided in Iselin for 20 years before moving to Avenel 26 years ago.

He was employed as a Truck Driver with Metroplex in Edison for 32 years retiring in 2007.

Mr. Markovitch was a Communicant of St. Cecelia's R.C. Church in Iselin and a member of The St. Andrew's Knights of Columbus Council #5088.

He was predeceased by his son Gerald Markovitch who passed away in 1985.

Surviving are his wife Margaret Bucher Markovitch; two sons Steven Markovitch of Avenel and Arthur Markovitch and his wife Amy of Bridgewater; a sister Grace Shrum and her husband Ronald of Linden; a brother Joseph Markovitch and his wife Charlotte of Clearfield, PA; six grandchildren Francesca, Zachary, Lucas, Nicholas, Jake, and Dante.

Funeral will take place Friday, October 6, 2017 10:15 am from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home ( www.Costello-koyen.com ) 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A 11:00 am Funeral Liturgy will follow at St. Cecelia's R.C. Church, Iselin. Cremation will be private.

Visitation will be Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the funeral home.
