Edward A. Foti passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at his home in the Colonia section of Woodbridge Township.  He was 77 years old.

Born in Elizabeth on January 31. 1946 to the late Rose and Philip Foti, he resided in Union before moving to Colonia 22 years ago.

Mr. Foti was a retired disabled veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War; after his retirement he was employed as an iron worker in Florida.

He was very active in disabled veterans affairs, serving as a volunteer liaison for disabled veterans, helping them obtain the federal benefits they were entitled to.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Foti.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Marguerite "Margie" Kennedy-Foti;  brother, Philip Foti (Michele), of Lakewood;  nieces and nephews, Debi Foti (Edie), Philip Foti, III (Trish), Donna Kennedy (Himanshu) and Edward J. Kennedy, Jr. (Kara); great-nieces and nephews, Patrick Foti , John Foti, Aiden Antala, Ajay Antala, Ella Kennedy and Edward J. Kennedy III.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (costello-koyen.com), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Saint John Vianney Catholic Church, Colonia. Entombment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will take place on Friday October 6, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
