Edward Favitta of the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at home. He was 79 years old. Born in Brooklyn, NY; He resided in Avenel since 1964. Mr. Favitta served in the United States Army. He was employed as a Mechanic with Maher Shipping in Elizabeth for 30 years retiring in 2001. He was predeceased by his wife Bernadette Favitta; a daughter Carmella Favitta; a son Edward Favitta, Jr.; seven brothers and sisters Michael, Mickey, Anna, Antoinette, Mary, Connie, and Rosie. He is survived by a daughter Vicky Favitta; a grandson Matthew Favitta; and three granddaughters. A funeral service will take place Wednesday, March 18, 2015 2:00 p.m. at Rosehill Crematory 792 East Edgar Road, Linden, NJ.
