Edward D. Drury passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Complete Care at Madison in Old Bridge, NJ. He was 83 years old.
Born on June 4, 1943 in Staten Island to the late Hannah (nee Heath) and John Drury, he resided there before moving to the Sewaren section of Woodbridge Township 26 years ago.
Mr. Drury was a graduate of New Dorp High School in Staten Island and served in the United States Air Force from 1960 until 1963.
He was the owner and president of Lester Kehoe Machinery Corporation in Staten Island since 1994.
An avid airplane enthusiast, Mr. Drury was author of “Staten Island: The Other Cradle of Aviation”, a book on the rich history of the aircraft industry in Staten Island from the 1890’s through the mid 1960’s; and was the proud owner of a six passenger Cessna Skymaster which he kept at Princeton Airport.
Mr. Drury also had a great love for the water; he held his Harbor Captains License and Lobster License and was a member of Richmond County Yacht Club. Along with his late wife he completed the “Great Loop”, a continuous 6,000 mile waterway that circumnavigates the eastern United States and parts of Canada aboard his houseboat, “No-Z”.
He enjoyed the company of his canine friends, Chico, Pumpkin and Bella.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marie DeClerico, in 2024; brother, John M. Drury; and nephew, John M. Drury.
Surviving are his children, Amanda DeClerico of Woodbridge and Daniel Donaldson of New York, NY; nieces, Lisa Drury Arizmendy of Key Biscayne, FL and Lynn Drury Spada of Morristown; and granddaughter, Eliza Donaldson.
Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of Mr. Drury’s life on Sunday, August 9, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street Woodbridge, NJ 07095.
In lieu of flowers contributions to Paws of War (pawsofwar.org) 127 Smithtown Boulevard, Nesconset, NY 11767 in Mr. Drury’s memory would be greatly appreciated by his loved ones.
