Edward V.
Concitis
July 14, 1932 — May 29, 2022
Port Reading
Edward V. Concitis passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway. He was 89 years old.
Born on July 14, 1932, to the late Helen and Vincent Concitis in Mount Carmel, PA, he resided in Kulpmont, PA, and Iselin before moving to Port Reading 58 years ago.
In his early twenties, he fell in love with and married the love of his life, Mary Wasilewski. They shared a great love for entertaining with many family parties, picnics, and holiday celebrations that regularly occurred at their home. You could often find them on the patio quietly holding each other's hands.
Mr. Concitis was employed at Siemens Medical before working for Amerford Air Freight in Newark for 26 years, retiring as lead agent in 1992.
He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean War.
Ed was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors, a passion that he shared with his three sons. He was also a fan of the New York Jets and the New York Mets; and enjoyed trips to Atlantic City with his wife.
Mr. Concitis was a longtime communicant of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Port Reading and a member of Teamsters Local #295.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sons, Edward D. Concitis in 2005 and Robert J. Concitis in 2019.
Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Mary; son, Keith and his wife, Nancy, of Edison; daughters in law, Jeananne Concitis and Linda Concitis; grandchildren, Jennifer Horvath and her husband, Scott, Melissa Schultea and her wife, Kalli, Shannon Concitis, Robert Concitis and Edward Concitis and his wife, Morgan; great-grandchildren, Landen Edward, Alyvia Rose, and Mav Edward; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Ed lived each day to the best of his ability. So, with heavy hearts, we must now bear farewell with great hope that he will be reunited with his sons, Eddie and Bob.
