Edward J. Bruton of the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township suffered a sudden heart attack and passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital at Rahway.  He was 69 years old. Ed was born in Brooklyn, NY where he lived until 1972 when he moved to Staten Island, NY where he raised his family until moving to Avenel, NJ where he resided for the past 25 years.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years Linda Bruton; by his son Edward, his daughter Margaret, and his son Robert; by his three grandchildren Theresa, Joshua, and Ryan; by his sister Barbara O'Rourke of Inverness, FL; and by his brother Joseph Bruton of Waterford, NY.  He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Margaret Foy Bruton, by his sister Joan Bruton Wilcox and by his brother Richard Bruton.

Ed was a Data Center Operations manager with Goldman Sachs, Warner Brothers, First Boston, Hartz Mountain, Computer Science Corp; and finally Brown Brothers Harriman where he retired as Vice President of Enterprise Systems.

Ed cherished his retirement spending quality time with his wife Linda and the rest of his family and close friends, as well as time at home with his puppies.  He enjoyed catching up with his childhood friends and the many other friends he met throughout his career.  His favorite pastimes were enjoying music, old movies, games, keeping up with politics and current events, and taking trips with Linda to Atlantic City.

Ed was a Communicant of St. Andrew's R.C Church in Avenel, and was a

member of Avenel Knights of Columbus Council #5088.

Funeral will take place Thursday, January 28, 2016 8:45 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home ( www.Costello-koyen.com ) 399 Avenel Street, Avenel.   A 9:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy will take place at St. Andrew's R.C. Church, 244 Avenel Street, Avenel.  Interment will be in St. Gertrude's

Cemetery, 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia.

Visiting hours will be Wednesday January 27, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
