Edna M. Toth passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. She was 87 years old.
Born in Hillside, she resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township for most of her life before moving to Toms River 9 years ago.
Mrs. Toth was a police matron for the Woodbridge Township Police Department and crossing guard at Avenel Street Schools 4 & 5 for 26 years before retiring in 2002.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Toth, in 1990; three sisters, Malvina Springsteel, Evelyn Kurta and Dorothy Peterson; and a brother, Frank Trevena.
She is survived by three daughters, Lois Nardini of Toms River, Cathy Pokol of Florida and Donna Roberts of Manchester; two sisters, Martha Trevena of Perth Amboy and Suzanne Klemm of Florida; two brothers, George Trevena of Kingston and Willard Trevena of Toms River; seven grandchildren, Brian Currid, Jamie Currid, Chrystie Lalor, Nicholas Toth, Sadie Pokol, Michael Roberts and Taylor Roberts; and four great grandchildren, Paige, Riley, Elizabeth and William.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home ( www.costello-koyen.com ), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. Entombment will follow in Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 2:00 until 4:00 and 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
