Edmund F. "Ed" Salter III of Woodbridge passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 49 years old. Born in Manhattan, NY, he resided there for most of his life before moving to Woodbridge 14 years ago. Mr. Salter graduated from LaSalle Academy and Saint John's University in Manhattan and was employed as a restaurant manager in the Middlesex County area for the past 20 years. Surviving are his wife, Cynthia Haviland Salter; three children, Cassidy L. Salter, Edmund F. Salter, IV, and William R. Salter, all at home; his parents, Olga and Edmund F. Salter, Jr., of Manhattan; a sister, Olga Papa and her husband, Ron, and their children Kimberly and Kristina of Mountain Top, PA; a brother, Mark Salter, of Manhattan; his maternal grandmother, Anita Leiva, of Manhattan; his mother and father in law, Marianne and Wilbur Haviland, of Edison. Funeral services will be on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. from the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue in Woodbridge. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2:00 until 4:00 and 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
