Obituary

Dorothy Anne "Rose" Gemski passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was 84 years old. Born in Neshanic Station, she has resided in Woodbridge for 59 years. Mrs. Gemski worked with Simmons Company in Elizabeth for 12 years until 1961; and was a communicant of Saint James Catholic Church in Woodbridge. Rose was predeceased by a sister, Florence Genega, in 1984; and a brother, Bernard Kasper, in 2001. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Walter Gemski; two daughters, Lisa Snyder and her husband, Paul, of Edison and Michele Booth of Avenel; two grandsons, Ronald and Christopher Booth; and she was joyfully looking forward to the birth of her first great grandchild. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 9:45 a.m. from the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue in Woodbridge. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church in Woodbridge. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would appreciate memorial contributions to the American Heart Association (heart.org), P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005 in Rose's memory in lieu of flowers.
