Dorothy O'Neill passed away peacefully on Monday, August 5, 2013 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 91 years old. Born in Mountain Grove, PA, she resided in Bayonne before moving to the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township 60 years ago. Mrs. O'Neill served as parish secretary for Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel for 30 years before retiring in 1994. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas J. O'Neill in 2000; and four brothers, Fred, Charles, Donald and Lester Kamerzel. Surviving are two daughters, Maryellen Dunn and her husband, John, of Flagstaff, AZ and Kathleen Flaherty and her husband, Brian, of Edison; two sons, James T.O'Neill and his wife, Ellen, of Hamilton and Thomas J. O'Neill, Jr. and his wife, Marilyn, of Bayville; three sisters, Ruth Geisick, Mary Burger and Ann Bruno; seven grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013 from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel, followed at 9:30 a.m. with a Mass of Resurrection at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Entombment will be in Good Shepherd Mausoleum at Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be on Friday from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
