Dorothy Molnar passed away on Sunday August 6, 2023 at JFK Medical Center in Edison, surrounded by her three daughters. She was 89 years old.

Born in Tottenville, Staten Island, NY on March 17, 1934 to the late Elizabeth and Louis Kish, she has resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township for the past 57 years.

She was a member of the Magyar/Hungarian Reformed Church of Staten Island and was also a Daughter of the Eastern Star.

An exceptional woman, Dorothy was a singer with an operatic voice, and blessed with the ability to picture a design in her head and then expertly design and sew the final product. But, above all, she loved and was devoted to her family and enjoyed hosting family for Sunday and holiday dinners. She was also best known for stuffed peppers/cabbage rolls and Hungarian chicken paprikash.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Joseph Molnar, in 2016; and brother, Louis Kish.

Surviving are her loving daughters, Susan Cifrodelli and her husband, Lawrence, of Edison, Cynthia Taffet and her husband, Gary, of East Brunswick and Donna Pastena and her husband, Christopher, of Florham Park; beloved grandchildren, Michael, Liane, Matthew, Sarah, Christopher, Austin and Vienna; and devoted granddog, Rocco.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel, NJ. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Interment will be in Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Visitation for family and friends will take place on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
