Dorothy Modrak of the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015 at Care One at The Highlands in Edison. She was 91 years old. Born in Brooklyn, NY; She resided in Greenpoint, Brooklyn before moving to Avenel. Ms. Modrak was employed as a Clerk with Deutsche Bank in Manhattan for many years before retiring. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Maryann Modrakowski; three sisters Catherine Kordelski, Helen Nash, and Ann Albert; two brothers Chester and Edward Modrak. She is survived by her sister Mrs. Genevieve Dumser; four nieces Mrs. Natalie Berwick, Mrs. Beatrice Gunnarsson, Mrs. Marilyn Ricciardi, and Mrs. Jacqueline Murphy; two nephews Mr. Thomas Albert, and Mr. August Dumser; along with many loving grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral will take place Saturday 8:30 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy will follow at St. Andrew's R.C. Church, Avenel. Interment will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. Visiting hours will be Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
