Dorothea Zanzalari passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune. She was 89 years old.

Born on August 17, 1932 to the late Dorothea and Hermann Kaiser in Lingen Ems, Germany, she resided in Woodbridge before moving to Neptune 20 years ago.

Mrs. Zanzalari was a member of the Deutscher Club in Clark and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Italian Tripoli Club in Perth Amboy. She was an avid fan of New York Yankees Baseball and Alabama Crimson Tide Football; and enjoyed summer weekends with family at Lake Bonin in Pennsylvania.

In addition to her parents Dorothea was predeceased by her husband, Robert R. Zanzalari, in 2011; and grandson, Joseph "Joey" Zanzalari.

Surviving are her sons, Robert M. Zanzalari and his wife, Terry, of Barnegat, Kenneth P. Zanzalari and his wife, Susan, of Franklin, IN, Thomas A. Zanzalari and his wife, Gail, of Carteret and Richard V. Zanzalari and his wife, Loretta, of Westbrook, CT; sister, Giesla Olsen, of Avenel; grandchildren, Danielle, Robert, Brittany, Ryne, Patrick, Logan, Lindsey, Kendal, Zachary, Alexandra and Nicholas; and great grandchildren, Colson Thomas and Payton.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Interment will follow in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday morning beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers contributions to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) in Mrs. Zanzalari's memory would be greatly appreciated by her family.
