Doris K. Verry, fondly known as "Nanny" by all, passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at her home in Woodbridge. She was 84 years old.

Born in Irvington, she has resided in Woodbridge for 45 years. She was an avid lover of animals and rescued many strays over the years.  She was also a talented painter.

Mrs. Verry was employed as a manager with New Jersey Bell Telephone Company in Woodbridge for many years before retiring in 1991.

She was a communicant of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Port Reading.

Mrs. Verry was predeceased by her son, Steven Verry, in 1998.

Surviving are her children, Lynn Szlasa of Harmony Township and Robert Verry of South Bound Brook; brother, Anton Rechner, Jr., of Florida; grandchildren, Steven Verry Jr., Michelle Verry, Mallory Marconi, David Marconi, Megan Verry-Bailey, Bryce Verry, Skyle Verry, Tabitha Verry; six great grandchildren; and her beloved Misty.

Visitation for family and friends will take place on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge.
