Doris Negri of the Colonia section of Woodbridge Township passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at home. She was 81 years old. Born in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, she resided in Colonia for 52 years. Mrs. Negri and her husband Don owned and operated Don's Place Luncheonette from 1979 until 1987 where she was well known for her homemade soups and daily specials. She was predeceased by her husband Donald Negri who passed away in 2006; a sister Elizabeth Rohrbach; and two brothers Thomas Mattie and John Mattie. She is survived by four daughters Donna Byoris and her husband Thomas of Colonia, Susan Hughes of Eastampton, Diane Alaimo and her husband Paul, of Colonia, and Gena Sheehan and her husband James of Colonia; nine grandchildren Jennifer, Eric, Nicole, Scott, Kristy, Jill, Tina, James, and Julianne; two great-grandchildren Paul and Donald. Funeral will take place Thursday 10:00 a.m. at the Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. Interment will follow at Bound Brook Cemetery, Bound Brook.
