Doris Mazzarella DeBenedetto of the Port Reading section of Woodbridge Township passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Park Place Center in Monmouth Junction. She was 84 years old. Born in Newark, she has resided in Port Reading since 1980. Mrs. DeBenedetto was a communicant and former choir member at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Port Reading, belonged to the D.A.V. Auxiliary and was a library volunteer at School #9 in Port Reading. She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas DeBenedetto, in 1994. She is survived by three daughters, Ann DeBenedetto, Doris Dennen and Mary DeBenedetto; three sons, Paul DeBenedetto, James DeBenedetto and Nicholas DeBenedetto; three sisters, Dr. Mary Mazzarella, Dr. Pauline Rush and Diana Everard; thirteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; Sisters-in-law Edith Mc Sorley, Norma Doering, Lorraine DeBenedetto and Brothers-in-law Dr. Joseph De Mayo; Edward Doering & Thomas Lewis, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Port Reading under the direction of Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, Woodbridge. Interment will follow in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
