Donald R. Boresen passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 59 years old. Born in Jersey City, he resided in North Wales, PA before moving to Scotch Plains 7 years ago. Mr. Boresen was a graduate of Saint Michael's College and was employed for many years in the insurance industry in the Philadelphia area. He was an avid golfer and longtime NY Giant season ticketholder. He also enjoyed the companionship of his two german shepherds, Heidi and Gretchen. Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Katherine Santee Boresen; a daughter, Andrea Boresen, of Springfield, MA; a son, Tim Boresen, of Jackson; a brother, Glenn Boresen, and his wife, Marcia, of Woodbridge; a niece, Karen; a nephew, Todd; and three grandchildren, Madeline, Calista and Shayne. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a contribution toward cancer research in Don's memory would be greatly appreciated.
