Dominick G.
Mauro
October 8, 1956 — November 20, 2022
Colonia
Dominick G. Mauro entered heaven November 20, 2022. A devout Catholic with a strong relationship with God, we are blessed to have him looking after us from above.
Born on October 8, 1956 in Jersey City to the late Angelina and Dominick Mauro, he resided in Carteret for most of his life before moving to the Colonia section of Woodbridge Township six months ago.
Mr. Mauro was employed with Bessemer Trust Company in Woodbridge before his retirement; and was a communicant of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Port Reading.
A music aficionado, Dominick loved the Beatles, and also the symphony. Music was a topic he could discuss for hours. He loved watching concerts on you tube and could recite song lyrics at the drop of a dime.
Dominick loved the Burg, Monopoly Marathons, Rummy 500, a good red sauce with mussels, Wheel of Fortune, 1950's television shows, and books about music and faith.
Loyal, intelligent, kind and funny, he made friends wherever he went. If you took the time to know him, inevitably you loved him. To say he will be missed is an understatement, he was a beautiful soul who will not be forgotten.
In addition to his parents, Dominick was predeceased by his brother, Patrick; and nephew, Matthew.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara; brother, Richard and his wife, Geraldine; sister-in-law, Michele; nieces, Melissa, Teresa and Jenna; nephews, David, Dominick and Christopher; and many great nieces and great nephews.
We ask that when you are enjoying a good meal, listening to a great album or simply going about your day, please take the time to think about Dom, remember him, and speak to him, he will listen. He was always willing to listen.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Port Reading. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers contributions to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) in Dominick's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
