Dianne Alvarez passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was 61 years old.

She was born in Perth Amboy and was a lifelong resident of Woodbridge Township.

Mrs. Alvarez was employed as Chief Secretary for the Woodbridge Township Board of Education for the past 29 years.

She was predeceased by her father, Michael J. Egnot; and brother, Michael T. Egnot.

Surviving are her husband, Ferdinand Alvarez; children, Gerard, Christine and Thomas Tobia; mother and step father, Betsy and Mel Hospidor; sisters, Carol Grives, Lori Lacey and Lisa Steigler; sister in law, Debbie Krisak; step children, Jessica and Pedro Alvarez; grandchildren, Alexis Tobia, Nikolas Tobia, Jadalynn Gachette and Gianna Tobia; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
