Obituary

It's with heavy hearts that we remember and honor Diane Campolargo, selfless daughter and daughter-in-law, beloved wife, caring mother and grandmother, loyal sister, and best friend to many, who left us on February 13, 2025. After a diagnosis of ovarian cancer, she bravely pushed through many treatments while being a mentor to others who were also diagnosed and continuing her role as a reliable friend to many. Diane, 64, died peacefully at home surrounded by those who love her most.

Diane's life began in Sayreville, NJ, where she was a fiercely loyal and protective sister to her younger siblings Susan, Kathy, and Gary, as well as her older sister, Ann; and loving daughter to Patricia and Erwin S.L. Hampson. She was talented in many ways, but her greatest gift was her empathy and love for all.

After graduating Sayreville High School in 1978, she attended Middlesex County College where she met the love of her life, Lineu. Diane and Lineu (lovingly referred to as Lee) started their relationship after a meeting with friends, finding their life long match and start of a great life adventure.

Lee and Diane married on May 12, 1984, on a beautiful spring day surrounded by family and friends. In October of 1986, Diane welcomed her first child, Amanda, followed by her second, Jacqueline, in September of 1988. Diane was a patient, loving, and joy filled mother. She was happiest when being a homemaker, bringing delight to her children and place of comfort for her whole family.

Diane's favorite part of life was the time she got to spend with her friends and family. She would host many holidays and parties, cooking for large groups of people and decorating for every event. She would always end those days tired but with a full heart and a smile, ready to plan the next one. In addition to being a supreme and welcoming hostess, Diane was heavily involved in all of her children's activities, as a cheerleading coach, class mom, and second mother figure to many of her children's friends. She was also a devout catholic spending her time as a CCD teacher and Eucharistic Minister, bringing the love and blessings of God, holy family, and all the saints, to all of God's children. Diane was a part of many catholic groups, with the Holy Rosary Society being closest to her heart.

Diane's greatest joy was being a grandmother, spending time with her beloved Analisa, Nina, Esmee, Luna, and Zorro. She planned for months her "Grandma's Christmas" every year, an event her grandchildren cherished and will never forget. She was present and played an integral part for all of her grandchildren's events and special moments. Diane was an ideal grandmother, delighting her grandchildren and filling their hearts with infinite love.

There are many good things that can be said about Diane, enough to fill a book with endless pages. She has touched many lives and made impressions in countless hearts. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
