Denise J. Rosa passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.  She was 70 years.

Born in Newark on October 20, 1954 to the late Madeline and Joseph Rosa, she has resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township for the past 24 years.

Denise owned and operated Nails After Dark salon in Montclair for many years before her retirement.

She enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening and spending time in the sun and in the pool.

Surviving are her partner of 33 years, Frederick Horning; son, Kristopher Holland of Budd Lake; stepdaughters, Jessica Horning of Avenel and Lindsey Horning of Carteret; sister, Michelle DeJackmo, of Nutley; brothers, Joseph Rosa of Wells, VT and David Rosa of Florida; and beloved grandchildren, Alexis, Riley, Milania, Lux and Makai.

A memorial service will take place on Friday, December 13, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
