Delores C. Dering affectionately called Buddy by her friends and family, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023 at Brandywine Assisted Living, located in Howell, after a long and fulfilled life at the age of 97 years old.

Born in Elizabeth to the late Caroline and Charles Dering, Buddy lived most of her life in Roselle and the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township before moving to Howell in 2014.

Buddy was employed as an executive assistant with CitiBank in New York City for 20 years before retiring in 1983.

Buddy will be remembered for loving her family and friends, her joy of baking desserts and treats, as well as her lifelong love of traveling. Buddy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends telling stories of her incredible adventures; especially her many trips to Hawaii. Buddy will be missed by all that knew her, especially her family.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (costello-koyen.com), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel NJ on Thursday January 12, 2023 at 11am followed by funeral services at 12:00 am. Interment will be held directly following services in Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Lupus Foundation of America (lupus.org) or the Alzheimer's Association (act.alz.org) in Delore's memory would be greatly appreciated by her family.
