Della Bird Olson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 1, 2017. She was 83 years old.

Born in Jersey City, she has resided in the Iselin section of Woodbridge Township since 1954.

Mrs. Olson was employed as a Clerk at Western Union many years ago.

She was a communicant of Saint Cecelia's Catholic Church in Iselin; and was active at St. Thomas Aquinas High School when her children attended there.

Mrs. Olson was predeceased by her husband, Charles J. Olson, in 2009; and a son Stephen J. Olson

Surviving are her children, Patricia A. Sharick of Colonia, Sharon K. Tenpenny of Hopelawn, Charles E. Olson of Sayreville, Thomas R. Olson of Levittown, PA, and William J. Olson of Rahway; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 9:15 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home ( www.costello-greiner.com ), 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Entombment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
