David J. Heuwetter, Jr. passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018. He was 53 years old.

Born in New York City, He resided in Iselin for the past 30 years.

Mr. Heuwetter was a communicant of Saint Cecelia's Roman Catholic Church in Iselin and a member of The National Hot Rod Association. He was a champion driver of Super Stock and Super Comp cars.

He loved to participate in the annual New Jersey Lighthouse Challenge and to spend his summers with his family in Cape May, New Jersey.

He was employed as a software engineer, head of global security, and Chief Operations Officer of the Global Data Division at Bloomberg in Manhattan, New York for 30 years.

He was predeceased by his father David J. Heuwetter, Sr. Surviving are his wife of 30 years Gerry Smith Heuwetter; his mother Barbara Heuwetter of Manhattan; a daughter Allison Heuwetter; a son, David J. Heuwetter III and his Fiancee Erin Dempsey.

A Mass of Resurrection will take place on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 10:15 a.m. at St. Francis Cathedral, Main Street, Metuchen. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, New Jersey.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, Avenel, New Jersey.
