Daniel Powers of the Hopelawn section of Woodbridge Township passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan. He was 64 years old.

He was born in, and a lifelong resident of, Woodbridge Township.

A 1974 graduate of Woodbridge High School, Mr. Powers was employed as a driver with Breza Bus Service in Rahway for many years before retiring.

He was a life member of Woodbridge Fire Company, where he served as Chief and was a member of the Woodbridge Exempt Fireman's Association and the Woodbridge Township Fire Officers Association.

Mr. Powers was predeceased by his parents, Daniel Henry Powers and Rachel Audrey Frederick Powers, brother Don Powers, sisters Virginia O'Rear and Patricia Roach.

He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Irene Jetters Powers; children, Michael Jacob Powers of Woodbridge, Christopher Don Powers of Woodbridge, Step children, Erin Shamy of Hopelawn, Sean Caldwell and his wife, Kelly, of Milltown, Ian Caldwell of Hopelawn and Michael Scank and his fiancé, Lauren, of Hamilton; granddaughter Willow Rose; sisters, Barbara Weissenburger of Metuchen and Judy Revere-Hook of Keyport; brother, Paul Powers of Charleston South Carolina; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

A visitation will take place on Saturday, July 18, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. with a 1:00 p.m eulogy at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge.
