Daniel J. Piasta passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway. He was 81 years old.

He was born in Edwardsville, PA on August 23, 1940 to the late Elsie Evans and Stanley Piasta. He resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge since 1971.

Mr. Piasta was employed as a forklift operator with Proctor and Gamble Corporation in Dayton for 30 years before his retirement.

He was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel, where served as a counter; and belonged to Saint Andrew Council 5088, Knights of Columbus in Avenel and Golden Circle, Avenel Seniors. He is a United States Army Veteran having served his country from 1962-1965.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Marjorie Walcavage Piasta; daughters, Suzanne Kozub and her husband Christopher of Woodbridge, Marjorie Flynn and her husband Gene of Avenel and Kimberly (George) Zweidinger of Rahway; sister, Lois Tokar; grandchildren, Brandon, Alexis and Makenzie Zweidinger, Daniel and Sophie Kozub, Ryan and Shane Flynn: sister-in-law, Carol Walcavage and his beloved dog, Sammie.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 9:45 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers contributions to Saint Andrew Catholic Church or Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital in Mr. Piasta's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
