Cornelius Joseph O'Brien passed away on Monday, August 26, 2019 at the Paramus New Jersey Veterans Home. He was 78 years old.

Born in Jersey City, he resided in Woodbridge for most of his life.

He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.

Mr. O'Brien was employed by US Air as a customer service agent at Newark International Airport for 30 years before retiring in 1991.

He was a communicant of Saint James Catholic Church in Woodbridge; and belonged to B.P.O.E Elks Lodge 2116 in Woodbridge.

Mr. O'Brien was predeceased by a sister, Joyce Daniele.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Denise Lehman O'Brien; children, Sharyn Lehmann and her husband, Frank, of Port Reading, Andrew Kelly and his wife, Lillian, of Brick, Richard Kelly and his wife, Nancy, of Syracuse, NY and Linda St. Marie and her husband, Paul, of Port Reading; grandchildren, Frank III, Kelly and her husband, Marc, Andrew IV, Bryan, Kevin, Paul, Brianna and Jordan; and great grandchildren, Ava and Dylan.

Funeral services will be on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 9:45 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
