Christjohn J. Straile, Sr. passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway. He was 70 years old.

Born in Jersey City, he resided in the Fords section of Woodbridge Township for many years before moving to Edison 3 years ago.

Mr. Straile was employed as a cook with Sciortino's Pizza in Perth Amboy and South Amboy until his retirement in 2015.

He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War and enjoyed spending time at the South Amboy and Edison Senior Citizens Centers.

He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Martin Straile, Sr., in 1973; and mother, Edna Straile, in 1985.

Surviving are his children, Kristin Turoff and her husband, Eric, Christjohn Straile, Jr. and his fiancé, Amanda Morales, and Sara Straile and her fiancé, Carl Dean III; the love of his life, Betty Baranowski; sister, Valerie Engroff; brother, Joseph Straile, Jr. and his wife Doris; his grandchildren, Carl Richard Dean IV, Andrea Rose Turoff and Benjamin James Dean.

There will be a funeral service on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday morning beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers contributions to the Sharing Network (njsharingnetwork.org) in Mr. Straile's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
