Cheryl Pokol passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Mattison Crossing Care Center in Freehold. She was 75 years old.
Born in Perth Amboy, she has resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township since 1981.
Mrs. Pokol was employed with Pilot Labs and Amquip for many years; and was head of maintenance for Squibb in New Brunswick before retiring 4 years ago.
Mrs. Pokol was a former member of the Avenel-Colonia First Aid Squad where she served with her daughter for many years.
Mrs. Pokol was predceased by her husband, Stephen J. Pokol, Sr., in 2018; son, Stephen J. Pokol, Jr., in 2007; twin sister, Maxine Mason; and brother, Bruce Cohen.
Surviving are her daughter, Cherylynn Pokol and her fiance Michael Manzi, of North Brunswick; and several family members on her late husband's side.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home ( www.costello-greiner.com ), 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. Interment will follow in Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers contributions to Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org), P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517 in Cheryl's memory would be greatly appreciated by her family.
