Charles Zimmerman passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025 at JFK Hartwyck at Oak Tree Care Center in Edison. He was 78 years old.

Born on September 19, 1946 in Woodbridge to the late Helen and Eugene Zimmerman, and was lifelong resident of the Township.

Charles was employed as a sanitation engineer with the Woodbridge Township Department of Public Works for 23 years prior to his retirement in 2010; and was past commander of Woodbridge Memorial Post 4410, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Comis, and Helen Valosin; and brothers, Eugene "Zeke" Zimmerman, Arthur Zimmerman, August John Zimmerman, Henry G. Zimmerman and Frank Zimmerman.

Surviving are his sisters, Anna Abate of Clark and Clara Zimmerman of Rahway; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were private under the direction of Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge.

In lieu of flowers contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org) in Mr. Zimmerman's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
