Charles F. Anness passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016 at The Chelsea at Forsgate in Monroe Township. He was 90 years old.
He was born and raised in Woodbridge and lived there until retiring to Bradenton, Florida in 1992. He then moved to Monroe Township in 2003.
Mr. Anness was a World War II veteran of the United States Army Air Force and was employed as facilities supervisor for Johnson & Johnson Corporation in New Brunswick for 15 years before retiring in 1988.
He was a 50 year member of the First Presbyterian Church of Woodbridge, belonged to Post 87, American Legion in Woodbridge; and enjoyed spending his spare time woodworking.
He was predeceased by his wife, Helen Gere Anness, in 2013.
Surviving are his children, Carol Lange and her husband, Charles, of Jamesburg, Nancy Vitello and her husband, Daniel, of Howell and Kenneth Anness and his wife, Janet, of Westfield; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, July 28, 2016 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Woodbridge, 600 Rahway Avenue, Woodbridge. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home ( www.costello-greiner.com ), 44 Green Street, Woodbridge.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the First Presbyterian Church of Woodbridge, 600 Rahway Avenue, Woodbridge, NJ 07095 in Mr. Anness' memory would be greatly appreciated by the family.
