Catherine Post passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Bayshore Health Care Center in Holmdel. She was 99 years old. Born in Bayonne, she resided there until 1942, when she and her husband, John, moved to Avenel, where she resided until moving to Sayreville in 2000. In 2003, she moved to Bayshore Healthcare Center, Holmdel, which she found to be an enjoyable place to live. Over the years she made numerous friends and enjoyed many activities, especially bingo. She was a communicant of Saint Andrew's Catholic Church in Avenel. Mrs. Post was predeceased by her husband, John J. Post, in 1980; a twin brother, Michael, who died shortly after birth; four sisters Anna, Mary, Elizabeth and Margaret; and a brother, Joseph. Surviving are a son, William Post, and his wife, Duane Mary, of Monroe Township; three grandchildren, William D. Post of Palm Springs, CA, Lauren T. Post of Las Vegas, NV and Gregory E. Post and his wife, Phyllis, of Hyde Park, NY; and two great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jessica Post. Funeral services will take place on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
