Caroline DeSantis Prencipe passed away on Friday, July 1, 2016 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was 86 years old.

Born in the Port Reading section of Woodbridge Township, she was a lifelong resident.

Mrs. Prencipe was a communicant of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Port Reading.

Caroline's grandchildren and family were the love of her life and first and foremost in her heart. She always made it a point to go to any events that her grandchildren participated in and was always willing to help out at Center Bar in Port Reading which her family has owned for many years.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Prencipe, in 1994; her parents, Nicholas and Mary DeSantis; an infant daughter, Bernadette Prencipe; three sisters, Filomena Chervenak, Angela Lasek and Rose Griffin; and a brother, Paul DeSantis.

She is survived by a daughter, Christine Galvach and her husband, Ken, of Port Reading; two sons, Nicholas Prencipe and his wife, Anna Marie, of Port Reading and Joseph Prencipe and his companion, Gina Sabatino, of Port Reading; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Liza, Genaro, Vanessa and Andrew; great-grandchildren, Kenny and Ava; sister in laws, Jackie DeSantis of Port Reading and Josephine Kovach of Woodbridge; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at 8:45 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Port Reading. Interment will be in Saint James Cemetery, Woodbridge. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
