Carole Decibus Coleman passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. She was 84 years old.Born on October 5, 1940, in Port Reading, she resided for the past 35 years in Port Monmouth. She was a congregant of the Church of St. Catherine Laboure in Middletown.

Carole is survived by her son William Coleman and spouse Marcia, her daughter Kelly Coleman and spouse Mark Radziewicz, her grandsons Brendan Coleman and Devin Radziewicz, her nieces and nephews that adored her and Ryleigh and Grayson Jenkins who fondly referred to her as GG Carole. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Helen and Louis Decibus, her brothers, Ronald and Roger and her Godson Nicholas.

Carole was an avid reader of the news and could always tell you the weather and what was going on in the world, earning her the nickname "Scoop".

Carole graduated from Woodbridge High School, class of 1958 where she lettered in volleyball. After graduation she worked for RCA Records and her brother's moving business. In 1979 she joined the team at Twin County Grocers/Foodtown Inc as an administrative assistant where she made lifelong friends. She retired in 2015. In retirement she started her mornings with Lyons tea, honey, lemon and a shot of Jamesons.

Carole was an avid music fan, with her first loves being Elvis and Roy Orbison. She listened faithfully to CBS-FM 101.1 and Cousin Brucie. She later switched to rock music, listening to Q104.3 from morning to evening daily in her retirement. Her claim to fame was seeing the Rolling Stones in the front row at Giant's Stadium in the 1990s and taking a photo on Elvis' bed on the Lisa Marie airplane in Memphis.

She was an avid Jets fan and adored Joe Namath. Her greatest love was the New York Yankees and listening to them on the radio on her deck. Her biggest thrill was attending Derek Jeter's last game.

Carole was a single mom that was adamant about giving her children a Catholic education from kindergarten to college. She was selfless with them and raised them to always do the right thing and be relentless.

Carole was extremely generous with her time doing charitable work. She volunteered every Saturday at Project Paul, a thrift shop and soup pantry in Keansburg, for over 35 years. She also volunteered with ESL where she would play with the children of the moms learning English. Also, she was very active in contributing to the Ewing Schools Life Skills program and St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Carole was very proud of her Italian and Irish heritage. She loved cooking, especially the "Easter Peez", an Italian easter pie. She made several for her family every year. She loved all things Irish and visited Ireland several times with her family. One of her most cherished moments was watching her beloved grandson Brendan singing Molly Malone with a band in a pub in Dublin at the age of 5. Carole will be missed by all who knew her but especially her son and daughter who she spoke to several times a day unless Jeopardy was on. She always knew more answers than the contestant.

We are inviting everyone to a celebration of Carole's life with a viewing on Thursday, 6/26 from 4pm-8pm. A mass of Catholic burial will take place at St. Anthony's, Port Reading at 10:30am on Friday, June 27th
