Carol A. Burns Nardone passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at her home in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township. She was 67 years old. Born in Staten Island, NY, she resided in Woodbridge before moving to Avenel in 1993. Mrs. Nardone was employed as night manager with Swan Recreation in Linden for 30 years before retiring in 2010. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Doris Kilberg Volpi; and a brother, Charles Burns. Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Enrico "Henry" Nardone; two daughters, Rena Schilling and her husband, Michael, of Port Reading and Cari Ruley and her husband, Michael, of Greensboro, NC; a son, Mark Nardone, of Greensboro, NC; two sisters, Lillian Lichtenberger of Lewisburg, PA and Diane Cooper-Tharp of Avenel; a brother, George Volpi II of Avenel; and two grandchildren, Haley and Julia Schilling. Funeral services will take place on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue in Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 4:00 until 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
