Obituary

Carol Mae Lubeski (Leonard), passed away peacefully on, Friday, February 26, 2021, at Southern Ocean Medical Center, Manahawkin, NJ, surrounded by her family. She was 83 years old.

Carol was born to the late Gerald, and Dorothy Leonard, on July 12, 1937, in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania. She was a graduate of Mount Carmel Area High School, Class of 1955. She married her husband Raymond, in 1960, and they moved to Brooklyn, NY to start their family. In 1965, they settled in Estate section of Port Reading, NJ, and remained there until they both retired to Manahawkin, NJ.

Growing up, Carol was a multiple-sport High School athlete, and excelled in academics. She played basketball, volleyball, and was also a cheerleader. She was varsity cheerleading captain for her High School's 1954 State Champion football team, on which, her future husband played.

Carol held many jobs in her life, but loved her final job with the Woodbridge Board of Ed, at Port Reading School #9. She was also the Middlesex County Committee Woman for a few years.

Carol absolutely loved her family and friends. She always looked forward to spending as much time as she could with them, as often as possible. She loved relaxing by the pool, or cooking for her sons, and their friends, on demand. She loved all types of music, with Barry Manilow and Barbara Streisand among her favorites. A die-hard fan of the NEW YORK JETS, she was a proud founding member of the famous Port Reading, JET NUTS bus, providing her famous homemade chili to several players, pre-game.

She is going to be missed dearly by her family, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Jeffrey, in 2014. Surviving is her loving husband of 60 years, Raymond; her sons, Mark Lubeski and Cathy Barra, Brian Lubeski and Karen, Matthew Lubeski and Pamela, and Raymond Lubeski and Lisa. Her 11 loving Grandchildren, Shaun, Mark, Brian, Abbey, Kyle, Matthew, Michael, Faith, Raymond, Madison, and Christopher, and 3 Great Grandchildren, Soleil, Selene, and Shaun. Also, her beloved nephews and nieces, Edward (Ward), Lynn, Jeffrey, and Cristine (Crissy).

Funeral services are private, and under the direction of Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, Woodbridge.
