Carol A. Hruschka passed away at her home in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. She was 81 years old.

Born on July 4, 1936 in Jersey City to the late Lawrence and Isabelle Kirn Wunder, she has resided in Avenel since 1961.

Mrs. Hruschka was employed as a traffic safety officer with the Woodbridge Police Department for 23 years; and was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Franz W. Hruschka, in 2008.

Surviving are her children, Heidi Travis and her wife, Dawn Fiorita of Colonia and Frank Hruschka and his wife, Kathryn, of Jackson; grandchildren, Alisha, Kaitlin, Jennifer, Dana, Jacqueline, Chris, Matthew, Andrew and Jillian; stepdaughter, Dagmar Weber, her husband, Wolfgang, their children, Matthias and Jϋrgen and granddaughter, Mila; great grandchildren, Jacob, Isabella and Olivia; and was joyously awaiting the arrival of two more great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. from the Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be on Friday from 2:00 until 4:00 and 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society at Saint Andrew Church, 244 Avenel Street, Avenel, NJ 07001 or Saint James Food Pantry, 148 Grenville Street, Woodbridge, NJ 07095 in Carol's memory would be greatly appreciated by her family.
