Carlos Ribeiro Crespo passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 60 years old.

Born on August 6, 1961 in Leiria, Portugal to the late Carlos Francisco Crespo and Maria Alves Pereira Ribeiro Crespo, he resided in Perth Amboy before moving to Carteret in 2001.

Mr. Crespo was employed as a bricklayer through Local 4 of the Bricklayers and Allied Crafts Union; and had served as vice president there.

He was a communicant of Saint John Paul II Parish, Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima Catholic Church in Perth Amboy.

Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Celeste Fernandes Crespo; daughter, Mara Fernandes Crespo Webb and her husband, William, of Jackson; grandson, Will Webb; sisters, Maria da Conceição Alves Crespo, Regina Maria Alves Crespo and Irene Maria Alves Crespo; and many other loving family members.

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at Saint John Paul II Parish, Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima Catholic Church in Perth Amboy. Entombment will follow in Alpine Cemetery in Perth Amboy. Visitation will be on Monday, July 18, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge.
