Bruce S. McDonald passed away on Friday, November 6, 2020 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 67 years old.
Born in Newark, he was raised in Carteret and has resided in Woodbridge since 1981.
Mr. McDonald served in the United States Air Force and was employed as a marine supervisor with Laboratory Service, Inc. in Carteret for 44 years before his retirement in 2017.
Bruce was a surf fisherman and belonged to Carteret Council 1280, Knights of Columbus.
He was predeceased by his parents, James and Beatrice Pelzer McDonald; step-dad, Stanley "Pop" Boiko; and brothers, Terrance McDonald and Bob Boiko.
Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Patricia Halladay McDonald; sons, Bruce S. McDonald II and his wife, Samantha, of Middlesex, Damien Rubanick and his wife, Meagan, of Mayetta, KS and Ronald Rubanick of Easton, PA; sister, Denise Mudrak, of Woodbridge; brother, Paul Cardile of Durham, NC; and grandchildren, Haleigh, Bruce "Connor" and Owen McDonald and Pippa Rose Rubanick.
Visitation for family and friends will take place on Monday, November 9, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 39105 in Mr. McDonald's memory would be appreciated by his family.
