Bernard Batty passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 78 years old.

Born on January 26, 1947 in Newark to the late Edward and Margaret Dolan Batty, he has resided in Woodbridge since 1978.

Mr. Batty was a United States Navy veteran, serving aboard the USS Rigel during the Vietnam War; and was employed as a forklift operator with Exxon Mobil Corporation in Bayonne for 10 years prior to retiring in 2009.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Dorothy Waraksa Batty, in 2010.

Surviving are his son and daughter in law, Ryan and Melissa Batty, of Frenchtown; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. A Funeral service will take place on Saturday morning at 11:00 at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers contributions to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (komen.org) in Mr. Batty's memory would be greatly appreciated by his loved ones.
