Obituary

Ben Romasz passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Genesis Southern Ocean Center in Manahawkin. He was 96 years old.

Born in Sorocze, Poland, he joined the Polish Army during World War II, and fought in Monte Cassino, Italy. He also spent time in a prisoner of war camp in Bavaria.

After the war he traveled to England where he met and married his wife of 72 years, Bernice Jurek, in Petworth, Sussex, England.

Ben came to America in 1953, working for the Ford Motor Company for several years as a mechanic. Settling in Plainfield, NJ, Ben opened his own business, Ben's Auto Repair, in Plainfield which he operated until his retirement; and then moved to Manahawkin, NJ.

Ben enjoyed his home, family and friends. He loved taking trips to Atlantic City with Bernice and having a great steak and a cold beer.

Salute to you, Dad.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jan and Felicja Romasz.

Surviving are his brother, Walter Romasz and his wife, Shirley, of Oklahoma; children, Krystyna Stempinski and her husband, Stanley, of Sayreville, Teresa Anderson and her husband, Bill, of Texas and Edward Romasz of Manahawkin; grandchildren, George Stempinski of Somerset, Jason Hubbard and his wife, Lisa, of Texas and Jessica and her husband, Nate, of Texas; and great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Austin and Harper. Ben also had many nieces, nephews and cousins in England.

He will be missed by everyone, yet we all know Ben is happy to be with Bernice, his wife, who passed on September 10, 2020.
