Barbara Marie Vinciguerra, of Woodbridge, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was 79 years old.

Barbara was born in, and a lifelong resident of, Woodbridge.

She owned and operated Albert's Hair Fashions in Woodbridge along with her late husband, Albert Vinciguerra, who passed away in 2012.

Barbara graduated from Woodbridge High School in 1955, where she was a member of the varsity cheerleading squad. As a proud first generation Hungarian, Barbara spoke the language fluently and mastered the cuisine of her homeland, delighting family and friends alike with her famous paprikas and traditional walnut kifli cookies. She also loved the Jersey Shore and enjoyed gardening at her vacation home in Lavallette.

In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by siblings Ann Arva, John, Joseph and Ernest Barany.

Surviving are her two daughters, Marlisa, and her husband, Marc H. Johnson and Erika and her husband, Thomas C. Zakrzewski, as well as her grand dogs, Thelo and Eloise.

A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue in Woodbridge.
