Barbara Ann Lasek passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was 65 years old.

Born in Perth Amboy, she has resided in the Sewaren section of Woodbridge Township since 1978.

Mrs. Lasek was employed as a manager with Alexander's Department Store in Menlo Park Mall and obtained an associate's degree from Middlesex County College

She was very active in her church, Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Port Reading, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and administered communion to the homebound. Barbara was also a proud founding member of the Columbiettes at Don Bosco Council in Port Reading of which she was currently serving as President, she also served as past Prestigious NJ State President and Supreme Director; she was also a past President and a Director of the American Irish Association of Woodbridge, where she was named Irish Lady of the Year for 2020.

With the American Irish she implemented Wreaths Across America where wreaths were placed on Veterans graves at Christmas to honor our Veterans. For 38 years she has held an annual baby shower for unwed mothers. Also, annually she has collected and filled backpacks which were given to Metuchen Diocese for Catholic Charities.

Surviving are her husband of 44 years, William J. Lasek, Jr.; son, William Lasek III and his wife Jennifer of Woodbridge; granddaughter, Lilyanna Autumn Lasek; brother, John Boland and his wife Kathy and their daughter Emily Boland of Toms River; brother, Robert Boland of Sahuarita, AZ; Sister, Gail Moench and husband Eddie of Brick NJ; and her beloved children of the heart, Shaun McNulty of Woodbridge and Richard Andrew Olkusz of Fords.

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated for Barbara on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Port Reading. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Friday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge.
