Obituary

August S. Bush passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2018. He was 86 years old.

Born in Queens, NY, he lived most of her life in Maspeth, NY and Albrightsville, PA.; He most recently resided in Rhode Island.

August was a wonderful husband, a loving father, and a good friend to all. His life was devoted to his family and his church, beginning with Maspeth United Methodist Church, and the East Greenwich United Methodist Church. He and his late wife, Emma, were generous supporters of all these houses of Worship.

He enlisted in the Air Force and served his country in the Korean War. He was a fire fighter with the New York City Fire Department, retiring in 1991. While working as a fire fighter, he earned a degree in Associate Applied Science, was a Dean's List Student, became a certified EMT, and a LPN.

Mr. Bush was predeceased by his wife, Emma (Dowdle) Bush, in 2015; and parents, August and Violet (Moxom) Bush.

He is survived by a son and daughter in law, Gary and Melita Bush, of West Warwick, RI, a daughter and son in law, Donna and Robert Dabrowski, of Avenel, NJ, and four grandchildren, James and his wife, Keisha, Michael, Matthew and Steven, and a great grandson, Kristopher.

Services will be on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Cremation will take place privately. Visitation will be on Saturday beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
