Audrey J. Superior (née Solt), 91, passed away peacefully at home on July 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and the animals she cherished. Born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, Audrey attended the Woodbridge school system and built a life rooted in faith, family, and compassion. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, generous heart, unwavering devotion to those she loved, and her lifelong affection for animals.

She was predeceased by her parents, Marguerite Price née Durrua and Robert Solt; her brothers, Robert Solt Jr. and Donald Solt; her husband, George Superior Sr.; and her grandsons, David Adler and Nicholas Superior.

Audrey is survived by her sister, Joyce Grow, and her brother, Bruce Solt of Tucson, Arizona; her half-sister, Judith Wise, husband, Jack, of Virginia along with many close family and friends.

She was a devoted mother to her six children: George Superior Jr., wife Cathy of Keansburg, NJ; Donna Superior of Indiana; Susan Peterson, partner Jimmy Nicholl of Manorville, NY; Nancy Buchanan, husband Gary of Amwell, NJ; Linda Stumpf, husband Richard of Mesa, AZ; and Carolyn Teichmann, husband Gary of Middlesex, NJ.

She was a loving grandmother to William Lages, wife Natalia, Keith Lages, wife Lea, Keri Gould, husband Mike, Laura Lages, Robert Adler, wife Kileen, Richard Stumpf, Jennifer Kuzio, husband Mike, Tara Kladovasilakis, husband Manoly, Joseph Maiorana, Rebecca Buchanan, and Allison Superior.

Nothing brought Audrey greater joy than her ten beloved great-grandchildren: Adrianna, Lorelei, Liam, Lucy, Madison, Michael, Eloise, Chase, Metta, and Lotte.

She never missed a birthday, and she never just said happy birthday either: she called, and she sang it, every year, to everyone. Audrey never left a party without leftovers. She had a love for puzzles and playing solitaire.

Her greatest compassion was reserved for senior dogs. Throughout her life, she opened her heart and home to older dogs that others overlooked. Even at 90 years old, she adopted a senior dog, Kenny—a reflection of her belief that every animal deserved love, comfort, and a forever home. She measured a life not by what it could give her, but by the love she could give in return.

A woman of deep faith, Audrey faithfully served as an elder and dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church in Woodbridge for more than 50 years. Her quiet strength, steadfast faith, and caring nature touched countless lives. She was the kind of person who made people feel welcome, offered help without being asked, and found joy in serving others. Audrey lived a life defined by kindness, humility, and unconditional love.

Audrey’s legacy lives on through the family she adored, the friendships she nurtured, and the many lives—both human and animal—made better by her love. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and fondly remembered whenever a birthday song is sung, a puzzle is completed, leftovers are shared, or an old dog finds a loving home. She will always be held close in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A gathering to celebrate Audrey’s life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026 1:30 pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Woodbridge, 600 Rahway Ave., Woodbridge, NJ, with interment to follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), the First Presbyterian Church of Woodbridge or a local animal shelter in honor of the causes closest to Audrey’s heart.
