Obituary

Antonio Prestien-Lopez passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018.

He was 18 years old.

Born in Englewood, he resided in Woodbridge for most of his life. Antonio was a senior at Woodbridge High School where he was a Captain of the Varsity football team; and a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church. He lettered in football each year since he was a sophomore. He planned to attend Rutgers in the fall with the dream to become a law enforcement officer. He had a tremendous love for football, in his words "It's my life". He was loved, respected, and admired by all, he truly touched the lives of everyone he interacted with. He will be dearly missed…

Surviving are his, parents Christina Prestien-LaPenta and Robert LaPenta; sisters, Cassandra LaPenta and Katelynn LaPenta; brother, Anthony LaPenta; maternal grandparents, Carl and Linda Prestien; paternal grandparents, Evelyn LaPenta and Robert W. LaPenta (deceased); aunt, Corin Prestien; uncle, Eric Albert; cousin, Erin; and niece, Kaylee.

A Mass of Resurrection for Antonio will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, North Madison Avenue, Avenel. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY. Visitation for family and friends will take place on Monday, May 7, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, North Madison Avenue, Avenel.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of New Jersey, 14 Commerce Drive, # 301, Cranford, NJ 07016 in Antonio's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
